Home Care Physiotherapy

Home Care Packages

As we get older, sometimes our bodies can't exactly keep up. Our needs change which may sometimes involve assistance with cooking, cleaning and other activities of daily living. This is where Physiotherapy with Home Therapy Australia steps in, to restore your movement, improve your strength and balance, minimise your pain and help you live the life you want to live.

Home Therapy Australia works with various referral parties including home care providers and private health insurers to provide the best home care physiotherapy to our clients.

If you have a Home Care Package and need physiotherapy, getting started with us is easy. Get in touch via the link below or contact us on info@hometherapyaustralia.com.au or call us on 1800 OUR HTA.

To get started, there will be a service agreement that will be placed between us and your home care package provider where we sign off that we are the contracting company to provide your physiotherapy service. From here, we work hand in hand with you to achieve your goals through a individualised, expert treatment plan.

Family Focused

Family is important at Home Therapy Australia, so we make the effort to keep family involved and informed about our physiotherapy plan and progress. This means that our clients remain supported in their care and remain independent for as long as possible.
What is a home care package?
A Home Care Package (HCP) is a Government initiative designed to provide older Australians (over 65) with access to healthcare at their home. The objective is to help people live at home longer, while living more independently and with a greater quality of life.
There are different packages (referred to as levels of support, which range from levels 1-4) for each individual. There are simple, low cost forms of home care packages, such as assistance with shopping or cleaning, right through to high level complex care needs. Home Therapy Australia provides therapy services within these packages. We are able to assist people who have different amounts of funding allocated to Physiotherapy.

Homecare clients receive the entirety of their funding from Home Care Packages. Unlike ACFI and NDIS funding, homecare packages allow for more leniency in their expenditure towards healthcare services, as this is highly compatible with an aging person. As such, an elderly person can be on a home care package for their whole life.
How long are people on home care packages for?
For Physiotherapy, we’ve been working with some patients who are under home care packages for many years. Homecare funding is a great initiative for people to receive lifelong Physiotherapy as it will help them maintain and improve on their functional capacity, strength, pain or other limitations.
What happens if you think a patient should be receiving more funding due to their needs?
We would firstly ask the provider if they can be seen more, as they may have enough funding to be able to do so. Lack of appropriate funding would typically indicate the person needs help with other areas too.
Therapy is essential and part of overall well being!
If there is no further allocation, we can discuss the need for reassessment with the homecare provider.
This would be submitted by the provider to ACAT, who will perform the reassessment. This process will change in 2021 with the privatisation of ACAT.
i'm receiving physiotherapy from another provider- can i switch to home therapy australia?
You simply notify your home care provider that you’re seeking to switch to another physiotherapy provider. The provider will subsequently send us a service and we will proceed from there.

Call or email to book now. We come to you!
